I know that you have many options when it comes to preserving your memories and documenting your family's time together. I want to answer all of your questions so I recommend that you call the studio and talk with me directly. Here are a few things that you are probably wondering about.

How much will a session cost?

My creation fee is $250 on weekdays and $350 on weekends which includes:

• An initial consultation in your home or at the studio to discuss your needs. We will talk about the session and I will answer any questions that you may have. We will also discuss the purpose of your images. For example, will your images be used as wall art or are you planning on displaying them in an album?
• A 1-3 hour photo session at your home or another location that you choose.  I will allow up to two locations for a photo shoot. Original and unique locations are encouraged and as always, your own home is a wonderful place for a session. 
• All post-production editing. Each image gets my special attention as I add my own artistic touch to each of them!

A projection or proofing session a few weeks after your photo session. We will view your images together in proof form on a large screen either in my studio or in the comfort of your own home. This is when you will see your images for the first time and I will talk to you about each of them and offer expert advice on the display and preservation of your artwork.

How many images will I be presented with?

The amount of final images depends on the length of the session and the amount of people involved. A large family of 6 can end up with up to 60 images. A family of 3-4 with a small chiild will view between 30 and 50.

What is your style?

My style has been called "editorial portraiture", "lifestyle portraiture" as well as "photojournalistic". I don't think that my style can be defined which is why your images will be as individual as you are. I would say that I am an artist who creates portraits of your life and your family.

My images are meant to be viewed together as they are each a part of the story of your family. In my sessions I do individual portraits as well as a portrait of your family relationships.

Why don't we just go have our picture taken at a department store studio?

Such studios can offer you a "picture" of what you look like at a certain point in time, but they cannot capture the essence of who you are. They are not offering you custom artwork or preservation of memories. We take great care of each client and each image from its creation to its final destination. We help you decide the best finish for your artwork (photographic, canvas, fine art?), the best location (large wall, desk, mantle?), and we will even help you hang it! We offer custom framing and custom designs of albums that are a true reflections of your "story". Our albums and storybooks are VERY popular!

Can I just get a disk of all my images?

When you order images or products from us there is a "finishing" process that an image will go through in order for that image to be displayed at a certain size and for that image to be displayed in its most beautiful (and color perfect) form. This is part of the art of photography, much like the processing of a film negative to be produced into a large print. We are professionals and experts at this process. Your images are all signed by the artist (me!) so that you know you have an original from me and future generations will know where that image came from.

I do allow, with limitations, digital negatives to be used for certain purposes. It's a digital world and we are sensitive to your needs for digital images. If this is a concern of yours please mention it when booking your session.
